About our company

Welcome to the online store of the Povitrulya company! We will introduce you to the magical world of needlework. People have always wanted to beautify their lives. Therefore handicraft in general and embroidery in particular fill an honorable niche in this regard.

Ukraine has always been famous for its needle artists. There were embroidered pillows and towels in every home. And of course clothes - embroidered shirts, or vyshyvankas - for which Ukraine is known worldwide. Vyshyvanka is not just a piece of clothes. Through designs on shirts, girls and women have traditionally conveyed guarding charms for themselves and signs for others. For instance, judging by clothes one could tell whether a woman was married or not.

Created with great skill and love, some of those things we inherited from our grandmothers are still a great inspiration for art.

The modern needlework has become more decorative. We decorate our homes with stitch embroidered paintings and cross-stitch embroidered sofa cushions. We wear embroidered shirts and dresses. And for wedding festivities, for Easter, or for the Feast of the Transfiguration our needlewomen embroider towels with beads and cross-stitches. Not only do these products look beautiful and sumptuous, but they also carry a positive charge of energy, which is so important on those holidays.

Bead embroidery has been the new big trend in needlework in recent years. The variety of colors, sizes and bead shapes allows this type of needlework to develop as rapidly as cross-stitch. The most common beads we use are made in Czech Republic, size №10. They are of high quality, all the same size, with large and continuously expanding variety of colors.

Apart from the traditional beaded paintings, manufacturers offer a wide range of other products: one can buy or embroider clutches, bracelets and icons. And of course clothes.

It’s this diversity of embroidery options that inspired us to create Povitrulya, a company that makes needlework products.

You can buy the following products for needlework in our online store:

All kits by Povitrulya include:

  • Aida cloth №14 or №16 made in Ukraine;
  • Needle for embroidery; the kits for bead embroidery and embroidery in mixed technique also include an extra fine needle for bead embroidery;
  • Threads by “PNK im. Kirova” on a cardboard organizer;
  • Big color pattern with symbolic notation;
  • “Preciosa” beads (Czech Republic);
  • User manual and some recommendations on embroidery.

The satin and gabardine with printed pattern are designed for embroidery with “Preciosa” beads №10. Thanks to our designers’ work, all the patterns are easy to read and embroider. Therefore you can rest assured our products are of high quality and your embroidery will run smooth! Everything will be fine and nice!

The Povitrulya website includes an "Articles" section, where you can find some interesting information on how to get started on embroidery, about types of decorative stitches, embroidery care tips, and how to do bead embroidery. The articles also include how-to’s on assembling our embroidery kits (clutches and bracelets). All the articles are illustrated with photographs and pictures for more clarity.

In the "News" section you can learn which events Povitrulya will participate in and see photo reports of past events. There is also information about new products we are preparing for you.

Our online store also includes a section where you can download free cross-stitch embroidery patterns. The patterns are available in *.jpg format, which can be viewed on any computer. Just save your favorite free cross-stitch pattern on your computer and then print it out – as simple as that. You can select free towel embroidery patterns, free shirt embroidery patterns as well as free children's embroidery patterns. These patterns can be embroidered both with threads and with beads. To do beadwork, use Aida cloth №14 – the beads will sit well on it and be neither too dense nor too loose. Pieces embroidered in mixed technique look very interesting – flowers are a good example. The flower itself is to be embroidered with beads, whereas the background and the leaves with cross-stitches. Don’t hesitate to improvise a bit.
