Bead embroidery pattern of icon "Mary Magdalene"
Mary Magdalene came from the city of Magdala, which was located on the shores of Lake Galilee. She was one of the women whom Jesus Christ healed of evil spirits (Luke 8:2). After that, Mary became a faithful disciple of Jesus, accompanied him during his travels, supported him financially and spiritually, and witnessed many important events in his life.
The most important moment in the life of St. Mary Magdalene was her testimony to the Resurrection of Jesus. She was one of the first people to whom the risen Christ appeared, and it was she who was commissioned to bring the news of the Resurrection to the apostles. For this reason, she is often called the “apostle of the apostles.”
