Bead embroidery pattern of icon "Saint Bademus"

The Holy Reverend Martyr Archimandrite Vadym is an Orthodox saint who became famous for his steadfastness in the faith during the persecution of Christians under Soviet rule. Archimandrite Vadym (in the world Vadym Ivanovych Sorokin) was born in 1878 in the village of Fedorivka, Kharkiv province. He studied theology and chose to serve God, becoming a monk and then an archimandrite. Vadym was known for his pious life position, deep prayer, and helping people. In the 1930s, when the Soviet government began to carry out massive repressions against the Church, Archimandrite Vadym became a victim of these persecutions. He was arrested in 1937, subjected to severe torture, but did not renounce his faith or deny Christ. A year after his arrest, on January 7, 1938, Archimandrite Vadym was shot dead in the city of Kharkiv. The memory of the Holy Reverend Martyr Archimandrite Vadym is celebrated on January 7 (January 20, New Style), the day of his martyrdom. Archimandrite Vadym became a symbol of steadfastness in the faith and heroism for Christ in times of persecution. He is part of a large number of holy martyrs and confessors who suffered for their faith in the twentieth century. His life and martyrdom inspire us to live a godly life and devotion to Christ even in the face of severe trials.
